Health&Care: Blood pressure
TREAT THE PERSON, NOT THE NUMBER
The Rule of Threes is an important guide for prioritizing the basic needs to preserve and maintain human life. Without air for three minutes, our brain shuts down due to lack of oxygen. Without water for three days, out body enters shock. Without food for three weeks, our tissues and organs run out of nutrients to enable bodily functions. Clean air, pristine water and nutrient dense foods are essential components of our lives. I have yet to meet someone who can live without drinking water. Ironically, the pharmaceutical industry has convinced many allopathic medical doctors that water is the cause of high blood pressure.
The easiest, but most dangerous, way to lower blood pressure is to decrease blood volume. Most of the water in our body is in the plasma of the blood, which is composed of 93% water and 7% other substances (proteins, glucose, mineral ions, hormones, etc.) By decreasing the volume of blood, blood pressure will also drop.
Medical doctors often prescribe diuretics which mandate the adrenal and kidney organs to decrease the water volume in blood. By inducing increased urination frequency and volume, diuretic medications lower blood pressure. Doctors merely focus on decreasing a number, while ignoring the Rule of Threes. Thus, many are quick to prescribe a diuretic, but neglect to investigate the cause of high blood pressure.
To see if you are dehydrated, note which symptoms you have that may be due to the loss of water from your body:
A holistic health care pharmacy practitioner understands that high blood pressure may be a symptom of multiple organs becoming fatigued or undernourished. The liver, large intestine, bone, lungs, skin, kidneys, adrenal, thyroid, pituitary and hypothalamus glands all play a part in regulating blood pressure to ensure your blood, the medium through which all nutrients and oxygen are carried to and from various tissues, reaches every cell of your body. Since water in the blood carries nutrients and oxygen to every cell and organ of the body, it is an essential substance for optimal health and wellness. I highly recommend Your Body’s Many Cries for Water by F. Batmanghelidj, MD to understand the importance of water for the human body. Water is NOT the cause of high blood pressure.
DIALYSIS PROVIDES LITTLE HOPE
Though the dialysis machine may be one of the greatest inventions created by NASA, modern technologies can never fully replace what nature provides us. Dialysis replaces only 10% of normal renal (kidney) function, so patients remain in a permanently toxic state. Moreover, dialysis tubing is known to leach toxic chemicals into a patient’s blood. These chemicals, infection from the treatment process and low blood pressure all shorten life expectancy.
